The All India Coordinated Research Project on Goat improvement was taken up during 1970 with the objective of developing high yielding germ-plasm, in goats for enhancing the productive of meat, milk and fiber in the country during 1971, the goat rearing was consider as a taboo and a rising prosperity, hens ICAR decided to initiate AICRP on Goat Improvement in 4th plan to utilize the production potential and availability of the spaces in deferent agro climatic condition the scientist of AICRP unit worked hard to stabilized the spaces as a most recommended for farmers and now it is recognize as “FUTURE ANIMAL” in the face of climatic change. Now we are working at 18 deferent locations in 16 breeds in deferent research institute, epicenters and NGO. I hope the AICRP on goat improvement will continue to produce deferent goat production technology and will increase the capacity of the farmers to adopt goat farming as a commercial venture. I am sure that your ideas, innovation will open up new direction in goat protection research and development.
